  1. 1) The government should not use social web sites to find infomation about criminals. The government needs to find other ways to find criminals. they have all the equipment, why not use it! On the other hand this technique could help put criminals where they need to be- JAIL! so it couldgo either way.

    2) If someone "friended" me and i found out later that it was a lawyer investingating my family, i would be mad, sad and, scared. i would be mad because this lawyer has USED me to get infromation on my loving family- and i probully gave it to him, not knowing he will use it aginst them. i would be sad because now something might happen to my family and i helped get them in that situation. i would be scared because my family might get taken away and i'll never see them again, or worse they might become unable to see me because of ME???

    3) No, because then people can pretend to be something they are not. Making fase identies is horrible and most web sites don't allow it. plus, it is just plain wrong because if you dont put truthful infromation on the accounts then inocent people will think you are something your not. in the end someone gets hurt. the government is totally wrong when they make fake accounts and be friends will someone just to get information on ciminals.

  2. 1)The goverment shouldn't use social networking sites to find out information about criminals. The goverment has many other resources. What is someone has the same twitter name as the criminal? Will they target the wrong person?

2)I would feel scared. I mean you have no idea who the person is. It would be scary to have someone you don't even know always know what your doing. I would not accept a friend request from anyone I don't know.

    3) No, becuase people can pretend to be someone their not. They could even prentend they are Justin Bieber or something.. It's scary because some little kid could think they were talking to a famous person but they are actually talking to a 60 year old man. creepy...

  3. 1) How do you feel about the government using FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter and other social web sites to find information about criminals?

I feel that the government should be alloud to use social networking sites to track down criminals. criminals deserve to be in jail and the government needs to put them there. 2) How would you feel if someone "friended" you, and you found out later that it was a lawyer investigating you, your parents, your friends or your friends' parents?
i would feel violated by a government agent who befriended me to track me or a friend a parents friend or my parents. the government should use the sites to track but innocent people shouldnt be roped in.
    3) Do you think it's ok for people to create fake FaceBook/MySpace identities?
i think creating fake facebook and myspace identitys is a terrible thing to do. even the government shoudnt. people creating fake identitys should be treated the same as identity theft, people with fake identittys can hurt people even if they are lawyers in disguise.

  4. 1) I think it is wrong for the government to use these websites because they are private profiles and none of the governments buisiness to research the people and have them arrested or accused of something.
    2) if you "friended" someone you thought was a friend and you were actually being investigated by the government then you would feel violated by the government
    3) I also do not think people should be creating fake myspace/facebook profiles because it is wrong and it is pretty much identity theft because you're being a whole new person not a real person that you're trying to be.
